TRY THIS TRIATHLON - DATE CHANGE
New date: Sunday May 24
The Try This Triathlon has changed the event date to accommodate the Calgary Marathon (who's new course now crosses our path). The date change brings a sigh of relief to the Alberta Triathlon calendar.

ARBOUR LAKE TRIATHLON & DUATHLON
- EVENT CANCELLED
It is unfortunate that we have to announce the cancellation of the 10th annual Arbour Lake Tri & Du. With attendance of over 400 in the past few years, we have outgrown the local community. As well the high traffic volume limits the capacity of the existing roadway network in and around the event area.

After discussions with the Community, City, Transportation and Police Departments it was decided to cancel the race.

We are currently working on another Calgary venue to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The tentative event date is June 27 & 28. The new event location will host the same distances as Arbour Lake, as well as a Kids of Steel race on the Saturday.

WINTER'S FURY TRIATHLON CAMP

March 27-29, 2009 (Friday -Sunday)
Calgary, AB

The Winters Fury Triathlon Training Camp is an intensive three-day, 2 night training camp for athletes of all levels.
Whether you're a beginner, seasoned olympic distance athlete, or an athlete with an eye on the 70.3 distance, this is the camp for you!
We will be bringing you some of the worlds very best multisport athletes and coaches to share their knowledge and expertise and to take you to the next level of your performance potential.

NEW! GROUP TRIATHLON TRAINING in Calgary starts this February! Club: Leaping Dog Racing, Coach: Deanne Jabs

Both Group Triathlon training Programs are designed for ALL fitness levels; one designed for beginners or novice triathletes and the other for longer triathlon distances such as Half Ironman or Olympic Distance. Both programs will be smaller groups so individual coaching will be given more attention. Email Deanne Jabs if you are interested or have any questions about joining the group training programs. More information is on the race website. (Note: If spots are still available after Family Day weekend, late enrollment would be considered. Email Deanne Jabs at leapingdog@shaw.ca to inquire about space.)

SPIN/BRICK - Tuesday evenings (women only) or Sunday mornings at Ridley's Cycle
SWIM - Saturday late afternoons at YWCA - Fitness on 5th

First Timer Clinics are starting much earlier this year to give the "tri-newbies" more valuable information sooner. If you, or if you know of other ladies that want more information about triathlons, visit the Leaping Dog Racing website (www.leapingdogracing.com) for more information.
Clinic dates are:

February 20th - Women's Only "New to Tri" clinic, Ridley's Cycle - 6:30 - 8:00PM - $20
March 18th - Women's Only "Bikes for Triathlons" clinic, Ridley's Cycle- 7:00 - 8:30PM - $30
May 12th - Women's Only First Timer's Triathlon clinic, Foothills Pool, grass area - 6:30 - 8PM - $20
July 9th - Women's Only First Timer's Open Water Triathlon clinic, Coral Springs Lake, Calgary - 6:30 - 8PM - $20.
August 6th - Women's Only First Timer's Triathlon clinic in Strathmore.- 6:30 -8PM - $20

Clinic registration can be performed by emailing Deanne Jabs at leapingdog@shaw.ca Payment can be received 15 minutes prior to clinic. No drop-in's please.
